Site and nature
The site is located southeast of Kyoto. It is on the hillside of a mountain covered with Japanese cinnamon, acorn, and oak trees. It is the outskirt of an evergreen broadleaf forest. This type of forest vegetation covers half of the moderate temperature zone of the Japanese islands
One of the characteristics of this forest is that you can find high trees exceeding 30 meters here. The forest is dense all through the year and light hardly reaches the ground. Bushy trees and ferns are few and there are no trees to bear flowers to enjoy. However the reflective light slightly shines through leaves is beautiful.
This architecture proposes how the simplest architecture should be on such places near the forest commonly seen all over the country. Sunbeams passing through the trees shine on this land. How to take this light into the architecture?

Architecture
We designed bustling of light in this architecture. Through the simple form of this architecture the interaction of crossing and overlapping lights appears.
It is a two-storied small office building with a wooden structure. The 4x15 meters building is like the Ark. The inside of the building is most simply equipped. But there is a play of ample light here.
Slits with the shape of grass, flowers, leaves are scattered on the wooden wall. The light from these slits finely changes its nature in pieces. The floor reflecting the changing light is red. Using light that reflects red and green, this architecture is built.

Bustling of lights
The shadow of trees on a red floor is enriching like the cool water flowing into one’s head.
This architecture is designed with the image of lively bustling lights.
Liveliness can be described that a place possesses a blessing. To receive blessing means one’s mental attitude extends to nature. It cannot be obtained in the world of abundance.
